SMS Glossary

API is the abbreviation of Application Program Interface. API means to set up routines, protocols and tools for building software applications.

CDMA (Code-Division Multiple Access), refers to any of the several protocols, which is used in the wireless communications of the so-called second generation (2G) and third-generation (3G).

This is the network point which acts as an opening to another network.

GSM (Global System for Mobile communication)
This is a digital mobile telephone system, which is widely used in Europe and other parts of the world.

HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol)
HTTP is known as the World Wide Web application protocol, which runs on top of the Internet’s protocols.

A network is a series of points or nodes interconnected by communication paths.

The short message peer-to-peer protocol (SMPP) is a telecommunications industry protocol for exchanging SMS messages between SMS examination entities such as short message service centers.

SMS (Short Message Service)
SMS is a service, which helps in sending messages up to 160 characters to mobile phones that use Global System for Mobile (GSM) communication.
